Default A Good HFC

My friend just cut off his cat. IT'S LOUD! But it sounds nice. My state doesn't have inspections, but I'd like to keep my car street legal. What would be a good HFC that basically doesn't filter emissions, but is quiter than not having a cat at all?

Nothing pretty much. All converter filter emissions.

What I would do is removed the cat and put a resonator on.

get a Random Technologies Cat. it is tested to flow like a test pipe, its emmissions legal, and pretty expensive. but well worth it.

What about these so called "off-road only" cats. And would a normal HFC sound similar to no cat at all, except for loudness?

Random Tech all the way. I will never have a car that is registered (meaning not a full race car) without a cat. with the quality of the random tech ones, theres no gain in a test pipe, and its guaranteed not to make you fail emmissions for up to 50,000 miles. thats insane. if any other product came out that offered those gains without any adverse side-effects, everyone would jump on it, but everyone is still convinced a straightpipe is worth it. I grew up with asthma, and i hated it. and thats what people are doing by not running cats. the ozone layer isnt nearly as affected by it as everyone thinks. that crap is heavy and stays close to the ground, so we just sit and wallow in the filth, and it causes asthma in little kids. for what? 4hp over stock? and next to nothing over a quality high-flow? screw that.

and those off-road ones are just resonators, and they will be loud. a normal hfc will be a lot quieter than a pipe.

Running with no cat is like farting in a small closed room with many people in it...
