its were you tear the guts out of your cat so you can still pass a visual inspection of the cat, like a cat looking test pipe

My friend hallowed out his cat (on a 1994 civic cx with a b18c1 in it). I definately can't say it hurt his performance, it probably added maybe 2-3hp, but the sound did change a LOT. Intead of a deeper tone like he wanted, it was much more of the typical "rice tone" he did gaina bit of power but in my opinion it would be much better to just go with a high flow cat (random tech.)

You definatly won't pass emissions. Even if you pass the visual inspection, when they do a tail pipe test you will fail. Its not worth 2 HP to have the emissions problems.

I honestly think you should just buy a high-flow cat.

^ +1. You will get more torque out of a high flow cat compared to just taking the cat out.
