Default Which header?

Hey, im thinking about purchasing a new header soon (after i get the exhaust which is gonna b an Evo2), but i was looking online and i'vv got a few questions. First of all, im a high school student so i really dont have too much money to spend, but i want to make my car faster, so im doing IHE. on the header though i was prolly gonna get a DC sports one, but then i found some OBX and Megan RAcing ones, which both retail for about 100-120 less than a DC sports header. I know that neither of those brands are near as high quality as DC (or some Greddy ones i looked at), but both of the Megan and OBX headers are full stainless steel. I guess my question is should i go with a cheaper one, and if i do will it give me atleast some power gains (keep in mind im on a fairly tight budget)...Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks, Evan

dont do it, its not really worth it for exhaust parts. there is way to much tuning required in a four cylinders exhaust system to get any power gains from a cheap setup.

I would go with dc sport ceramic since it can take more heat than stainless steel one.

im pretty sure the stainless one is ceramic inside too, but its way more expensive than the ceramic, so i would go ceramic as well.

I don't believe the full stainless header is ceramic on the inside (unless quoted). Also, the stainless headers are thinner and give you much more of a "pinging" noise than a ceramic coated steel header (which is thicker). The ceramic coated headers hold the heat inside better also, to keep the engine bay a bit cooler.

i guess youre right Negoti8or, i must have been thinking of some other brand. i looked up the DC one, and it didnt say it was coated. but i'd still go with the ceramic DC.

I had a DC on both of my Preludes and was very happy with the fit and overall performance.

yeah, Greddy is awesome too, but if youre in Cali, the DC ones are carb exempt. but i like the Greddy one better otherwise.
