way too vague of a question, it varies from brand and type (i.e. racing, sport...).a lotofracing headers are not carb legal. also they have to have a spot for the o2 sensors. but if you give us some examples of onees you are looking at we could help out more

come on guys its a simple question: DC Sports is what you want for CARB legal. make sure it's their street header and NOT their race header - that one is NOT CARB legal. megan racing, despite their great rep, is NOT CARB legal.

DC is the only header i know of that are approved.....but i've always wondered, doenst CARB have to do with emissions? And isnt it your cat that takes care of your emissions? The header really doesnt do anyting for emissions, so i dont really understand how you would fail a test because of a new header.....anyone know why? lol I've always wanted to ask this question....

My Hedman Chikara (or Tork-Step) headers are not CARB certified because it has no bung sensor for the O2 sensor and gets rid of my catalytic converter. the cat on my D16Y7 is right on the header. some companies don't mess with this set-up because of the cat so they don't go for certification. luckily i live in labrador, so emmisions is not that big of a priority.

You don't know what CARB is because you don't live in California.

CARB = California Air Resources Board. They are the board which BAR certifies your vehicle to be legally driven on the street once it passes the emissions testing.

If you don't live in California, you don't need a CARB approved modification.
