headers, intake manifold, high flow cat, cat-back
So i am really ready to get moving on my hondas hp, ive got the exterior down pretty good but i need more power. and i was gonna start off with new headers, new intake manifold, a high flow cat, and a cat back. but im not really too sure on the brands and which to go with. and i was wondering where i could find good stuff for cheap bc i just got done with my first year of college and have little money so it will take time. any ideas/help would be awsome. thanks.
Cheap and good are usually not synonimus with one another unfortunately. With what you are talking about (depending on your current mods) you are going to notice minimal gains, might even loose a little torque with less back pressure.
If you want cheap and you want power, buy yourself a SMALL nitrous kit. They can be set up to only come on at wot (wide open throttle) so its not putting undue stress on your car when you do not need it. I hate nitrous oxide, however there is no denying its cost:hp ratio. Make sure your car can handle it though. Might want to get a compression test done on the cylinders.
This is something you can probably find used and still be reliable. I think others on the site will be able to give you a little more insight on used kits (I personally do not have any experience but from what I understand there should be no huge issue buying used). Intake maini, header, exhaust, they all get hot. Metal does funny things when it gets hot. It warps, cracks and breaks. Buying used parts can save you money but if you do not know what you are looking for can also result in you spending money on a bunch of stuff that is on the verge of going south.
At least if you buy new, you have a manufactures warrenty to come back on.
