Could anyone give me any advice on an intake system that gives you the most "bang for your buck" for my 2005 Honda Civic Lx?

A pipe is a pipe. An intake will only gain you a couple hp. Nothing that will make a difference unless you are going for the look or the sounds

 

especially on a 7th gen an intake will net you maybe 2-3 hp which you can not notice. buy the cheapest intake you can find on ebay then throw away the filter that comes with it and buy a AEM dryflow that will fit the pipe.
