Need help choosing a camera..any sugestions?
Ive been looking for a good camera to buy. How ever I have no idea what is good or not. Is optical better than digital? I want something with good zoom and compact. Perhaps one that can store small clips and a decent amount of pictures. What type of cameras do you guys have and which do you recomend. Im want to spend around 300$.

There was already a thread on this very same topic. Try doing a search.
BTW, Optical zoom is better than Digital as far as clearness of the picture, although not many compact cameras have very much Optical zoom because it makes a camera bulkier.
I have a Sony 5.1 MegaPixel DSC-T1 which is well built, very compact, and is very fast. If you use your camera for children, you'll want a fast camera otherwise by he time you get it turned on and ready to shoot, the children will be in another room.

I choose this camera
Casio EXILIM 7.2-Megapixel Digital Camera
Model: EX-Z750
Get fine detail and simple operation. Best Shot samples make it easy to activate just the right settings, so you can pay attention to the moment, not your camera.
7.2-megapixel CCD captures high-resolution images up to 3072 x 2304 pixels
3x optical/8x digital/24x total zoom
2.5" color TFT-LCD monitor with adjustable brightness; optical viewfinder
