Default Help with header...?

I got my exhaust custom done and told them I was gonna get a header when I got the money for it so they put a flex pipe on for later. Then, they welded a little piece of pipe onto the flex pipe, and then welded that to my exhaust manifold (stock header). When I get the header put on (I can't weld so I'll have to have someone do it for me) should I have them weld a flange to the flex pipe and bolt the header on, or should I just have them weld the header right on?

click the picture, I wrote stuff on it

i dont thnk you should weld the header on. If you ever want to replcae it or work on it or anything it wont be convenient at all. Most headers should bolt right up to the midpipe (the rest of the exhaust) and so should hte stock exhaust manifold. I dont really understand why they welded the stock manifold on, you should have them put two flanges on (one on the new exhaust and another on the stock exhaust manifold) and then bolt them together. That'll make for easier switching out of parts, especially when you get your new header.

cool, thanks for your input guys. I don't think the same place I had it done will work on it for free anymore cause the warrenty is up, so I'll have to look around for who will do that the cheapest for me
