Default hot air under the hood?

does honda factor in the air temp with their stock intake setup? is it fuel mileage? it seems that if they went to a cold air intake stock from the factory that they would get at least as good fuel mileage. Maybe this is a dumb question, but since the mileage on my 04 DX is around 38 stock, that they may have been able to improve that from the factory with cold air intake, or am I missing something?

Its called reliability, they have to make the cars on the side of economy and reliability. Do you think mommie is going to buy a car with a loud intake and be told that if she drove it in the rain it could possibly lock up because of the water? No way... she wants it simple. Put in the key and drive, not worrying about anything... and quiet. Thats why you dont see nitrous stock on cars.

stock cars always draw air from outside the engine compartment. follow that tubing all the way out. and that mileage from an itake is more from a higher quality filter. and ive seen one kinda factory car that came wired and plumbed for NAAAAWWWS, it was the Saleen Focus. but as soon as you hook up your bottle, it voids the engine warranty.[&:]
