hi im new to the honda tuner scene, i have a 99 civic ex 2d w/ a D16y8 engine. Right now its all stock except for a k&n typhoon CAI. i plan on putting on a full cat back exhaust and headers w/ a skunk2 intake manifold and throttle body. after those are on my car i was wondering about how much hp will i have? how fast would my 1/4 mile time be? also i was wondering after i do these upgrades what else is there i can do to my car WITHOUT turboing it? also easy on the abbreviations...i dont know that many =D thanks!

 

valve train / new cam. You could also get a port/polish from a machine shop. Why not also upgrade your suspension you'll be able to take corners better aka Full coilovers, and Strut tower bars to help. Don't expect huge gains with just bolt ons.

 

ok and how much would all that cost me? i work part time and am a senior in high school, so i dont have a whole lot of cash.

bolt ons will make you 15hp after a tune and thats after about $800 on an intake, header, and exhaust. The tune is gunna cost even more so imo there is no point in doing all that. If your just looking to make better quarter mile times i would get nitrous. MobstaMan has a video of him owning some fools with his nitrous. Its fairly cheap and will give you big gains when you need it. Go read the faq on this site to get an idea and then go buy a book like the Honda/Acura Performance one.

 

I won't be able to tell you. Depending on the products, where you live, and the brand of the product it could be all over the place.

For me personally heres what everything priced is though. I do live in Canada though, so I can't get the best of deals like Americans do aka Duty fees, and more.
