i just got a new civic lx stickand i'm wondering what brands and what upgrades are the best to start with, i was thinking about a cold air intake but I figured it would be better to have some input

depends on if you want a little power, a little grip, better handling, better looks

 

well a little power sounds good for now

 

everyone is going to say about same thing start off with intake header exhaust....unless of course you have the money to turbo

 

intake - AEM seems to be the most popular... really, the intake tube doesn't matter that much... you could get away with an ebay intake tube anda K&N or AEM filter with almost the same gains.
header - Megan Racing, Hedmen, DC... they all offer about the same gains (but the DC will cost you an arm and a leg)
exhaust - RS*R, Greddy, HKS, Megan Racing are all pretty good

 

i would like to add APEXi to the list of exhausts he put

 

i would go even further and recommend all things Apexi.

 

if somebody wants a pretty comprehensive list of brands, run to your local EB Games and grab a copy of Need for Speed lmfao!

 

that's not really a comprehensive list... after all, they did forget to include APC in those games, and we all know APC is teh best br4nd evr!
