Default huge exhaust problem

ok...so i have a 92 honda civic lx. when i bought the car i had a ebay fart can. i was just going to replace it but the whole exhasut system was welded from cat-back. so i removed the whole cat back and installed a used (from the junk yard) one. it was the midpipe and a muffler. when i put them on the car. it did not line up. maybe 4-5 inches short. i figured the downpipe+cat were different also...so i took the cat from my old 92 civic lx (auto) and it still is short. the only last option is...it being a motor from another car. but idk. any help/opinions on what to check will definently help.

Can't you get a custom-length pipe from a muffler shop to replace the short one? It shouldn't cost much.

you sure it doesn't say D15B7? because D15B7 is the engine that's suppose to be in your car, and a 7 can resemble a 1 sometimes.

ok. lets say its a 1(one). would this cause my stock exhaust off a 93 honda civic lx to be short 4-5 inches. and if its a 7(seven) why the hell is the exhaust short. this ish is really pissing me off. i just want to fix this.

maybe you have an "ebay" header that's shorter compared to the stock header?

Your just going to have to get a pipe made at a shop. It wont cost much, and your can still bolt a WS2 right up later on. All they will do is make a new mid pipe to make up length and bolt the rest up to the cat like its supposed to. The only thing that would hurt you, is if you let them weld directly to the header.

I think your making it more complex than it needs to be. It will cost you probably 50 bucks to just get it extended a few inches on the midpipe.
