Default Installing the V2?

I just bought my V2 off of eBay. For anyone who installed their own...do you basically just remove the stock air box then install the V2? ALL bolt-on?...like is it really that easy, you dont have to rig ANYTHING? Like drain the antifreeze...remove hoses other than the intake parts? I just don't see it being that simple b/c I put an intake on my '98 Mustang years ago and it was an absolute pain in the ***.

By the way, does it really sound as good as people say? I hate that tin can sound the stock intake makes...sounds weak as hell....

yes its all just bolt on. just remove all the parts of the stock intake, and put the V2 on, make sure the hoses are on and all. dont forget to reset ur ECU too. and yes its sounds awesome, my friends 04 EX has one and thats the only mod he has and it makes it sound like he has an exhaust..but a lil quiter obviously..

to reset the ECU I just have to disconnect the battery terminals for a certain amount of time then just replace them right? I dont have to worry about trouble codes or anything?

I think someone should post a sticky in the ECU section on how to reset ecu.. ive seen this question come up several times in last week.. to reset it just unplug your negative battery terminal while you do your work.. after your done.. reconnect your battery.. from what i have seen a few people suggest there is a fuse (if you can find it) that you can just pull on your fuse box and leave it out for 30 mins or so.. not sure on required reset time.. if its like a PC in your house then only 5 mins usually.. but 30 to be safe sounds good..

It depends on the model of V2. Some of the V2s are short ram style some are CAI. on the ones that are CAI you will have to remove the front right tire to get access to some of the parts you will also have to change out a motor mount that attaches to the tranny for clearance reasons, they provide the new mount. but yes its all bolt on.

They only come as short rams for 7thgens... Dont worry about the install, its very simple, I think it took me like an hour and a half to do it. Aem's instructions are very good so you should have no problem.

to reset the ECU just take off the negitive battery terminal for about 30mins or so, then put it back on. simple, no need to go thru a lot of hassel...
