intake manifold question
i heard that the ex intake manifold is good. Is it true? Might be buying one to replace my y7 manifold. Also would it be that difficult to install? well thanks.

RE: intake manifold question
Yeah, the 6th gen Ex mani is the best OEM one. Should be a good upgrade for you. Install should take about an hour depending. Make sure to label everything you disconnect.

RE: intake manifold question
taking pictures every angle you can wouldnt hurt either!!!!

RE: intake manifold question
you need a diff. intake.
|
RE: intake manifold question
yeah i know i need a diff. intake. Would installation be straight forward or be hard. New gaskets?
|
RE: intake manifold question
i would get new gaskets and get the throttle body from the ex as well because i dont think yours would bolt up to the ex manifold... but get a hondata intake manifold gasket as well.... they are well worth the money i here

RE: intake manifold question
ill definetly look into that gasket. Thanks for pointing that out. Well i gotta save up for that manifold now. Damm work place only giving me >10 hours per week now.

RE: intake manifold question
one other thing, i was reading somewhere that the ex auto intakemanifold is better than the manual. Is that true? or does it really make that much of a difference. Well thats just another questions. thanks.

RE: intake manifold question
all honda throttle bodies are the same. you dont need the throttle body...but its less of a hassle.
get new gaskets. its always a good idea to replace them when you can. installation shoudl be pretty straightforeward. one problem i know ppl do encounter is where to put the sensors. just mark and label them if you dont think you could keep track of what goes where. |
RE: intake manifold question
not all throttle bodys are the same. my cx throttle body isnt even close to linning up with the d16z6 intake manifold that i just got... plus the y7 is top mounted if that makes sense and the y8 is side mounted. i would recommend the y8 throttle body to get the true performance out of the vtec intake manifold...plus the y8 throttle body is bigger
