I have a 1999 civic dx and I want to make it faster. Any suggestions on what I should get? and/or where.

you could always do a motor swap with an ex vtec motor. it bolts right in you just need the vtec computer. or even the si motor or integra motor for the 99-00 si i think all you need is the computer and the rear motor mount from the si.but if you do the si swap even the ex get the tranny because the gearing is what makes a lot of the difference.
for a cheap swap a non vtec b18 from an integra, a si b16, or the ex d16 vtec would be nice. for power i would go with the si, for torque i would go with the b18, for a combo of both i would go with the ls vtec which is also cheap to do. it is a b18 block with a b16 head.

 

I also have a 99 DX which im going to be building up this year. It should take me a little over a year to really get the car where i want it to be at. Because this car is my daily driver im going to buy a complete D16Y8 engine. Something with low miles and the Y8 head etc... I will then build the motor, port/polish the head, get a new cam. Basically set it up for a turbo. Im shooting for 350ish whp at the track, with a 270ish whp street set up.

Right now with the Y7 im getting a custom catback, and doing everything else I can take care of pre-swap like suspension bits, rear disc convertion, upgraded front rotors/calibers, and some nice 15/16 inch wheels on 225 series rubber. Not to mention tinted windows and maybe some new speakers. Oh and i need a tune up lol

 

how much money are you wanting to spend and what route are u going? for mild gains go the i/h/e route..4 bigger gains go forced induction or swap.
