Default k&n air filter, rocks

i just bought a k&n air filter, after having a no-name air filter..when i'm in idle, the rpm's don't play as much, the damn thing sounds different. (which is hard to clearly tell cause of my exhaust system and i feel a better throttle response. does it seem like my mind is playing a trick on me or this is something that k&n does? i like it...alot. is it really that good?

yeah, most of it is a placebo, but still.. the K&N is going to outperform the no-name filter, without a doubt; but it's not going to be really noticeable. congrats on getting a good filter

Yeah, you spent $45 on a cleaner engine in the future with an added horsepower or two ... personally, I have a generic tube with an AEM filter and I love it. Air filters that cost more than the intake tube ftmfw!!1!

the $40 you spend on the filter is well worth the wear and tear that you save on your engine... the HP gain is just a bonus

ya which filter would you rather have...
the cheap ebay filter thats just a metal screen... OR a REAL filter aem dryflow filter thats a realy nice cloth material....

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...mfilter005.jpg

only thing that cheap ebay fiter does is keep out the bugs! all kinds of dirt and dust is still going RIGHT thru that steel mesh... only thing its good for is to use as a scratch pad on pots and pans.LOL

hell that scrapy screen will probably corode and rust into a hunk of CRAP!!!!!!! the KNs are good but i think the AEM dryflows are beter cause the dryflows are well... dry... no oil like the KN filters.....
