Default long pipe

ei,
removing the exhaust long pipe frommy civic can increase hp?
i know it will be loud but there are no restrictions here in the philippines. and free flow means increase hp right?
should i direct my muffler to the headers? im looking for the sound and hp gain? and how much hp can i gain, remember there are no sound restrictions here in our country. LOL!!!

that is a horrible idea. Go with a catback exhaust. Megan, Magnaflow, GReddy or Apexi are your best bet.

naw the perfroamcen gains wouldnt be worth the inability to drive around because of how loud it is. It will just sound horrendous and you wont be able to stand it becasue of how loud it is. A new catback exhaust will give you VERY noticable gains and nice sound at the same time. And its recommended to keep a catlyitc converter on there just because its bad for the ozone man

but irregardless of the issue, free flow has less drag than having a cat back right? i just wanna know if the hp gain is higher from the open xhaust than a cat back..

you will HURT your car if you take off the exhaust. think about your exhaust as a straw...

if you have a straw in a cup (oem size), you'll be able to drink water fine
if you have a huge straw (or no straw), you WON'T be able to drink water, because 1) your not producing enough sucking power (this parallels the car's ability to provide exhaust) and 2) something about backpressure that can be explained in the sticky...

driving without the midpipe in a civic is loud...

i had a crack at the resonator in the mid pipe of my civic that resulted in the exhaust splitting (fell to the ground on the highway going 70... want to talk about sudden noise and sparks)...

it's loud, doesn't do much for performance, and sounds like ****

oh yea no sh*t i forgot about the whole backpressure situation. Any low-end torque you had before will be completely gone. Trust us, its a horrible idea
