OP: If you live in Pennsylvania, it sounds like Greddy may want to negotiate a deal for his EX exhaust.

Greddy: Does the conversion involve simply replacing the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe A with the EX exhaust manifold and cat?

 

ya to change to the EX exhaust i believe you also need a O2 wire extensions to move the lower O2 sensor to behind the motor around the EX cat.
i havent done this swap yet BUT i want to my dx!

 

The picture I posted shows that the O2 sensor of the 96-98 Y8 exhaust is forward of the engine, similar to that of the Y7 exhaust. Nonetheless, my 00 EX with a Y8 has an Si exhaust where the O2 sensor is behind the engine, as you mention. I guess it depends on what type of exhaust system Greddy has.

 

theres 2 sensors on the front of the DX.

one ontop and one on bottom of the cat.

 

Gotcha, it's the secondary O2 sensor that needs a longer extension wire to reach behind the EX cat. My 00 EX (Si) exhaust has the primary and secondary sensors behind the engine.

 

I have a greddy EVO2 catback. But i had the stock y8 header/cat setup before that. My one o2 sensor screws into the top of the manifold (such as the y7) and the secondary plugs in by the cat.

 

I would also like to comment on TrustDestructions post. The magnaflow high flow cats still may trip a CEL at which point the inspection station will not even look at it (At least in PA)
