Default Megan Racing vs DC Sports

Is there a difference between a 4-1 Megan Racing header and a 4-1 DC Sports header because the prices sure are.

DC Sports is 50-state legal; Megan Racing won't pass emissions in Cali. Really, that's about the only difference. Megan Racing also has problems with the mid gasket not sealing, but if you put Copper RTV sealant on the gasket before bolting the header on, you won't have any problems.

So should I get the Megan Racing to save some money over the DC Sports?

If you don't live in Cali, I'd go with the Megan Racing... it's half the price of the DC and it'll give you the same gains. No point in spending double the money for the same results, right?

i prefer dc sports over megan, but i guess i'm in california, strictest emission laws. megan still makes some quality headers and its cheaper, best bang for the buck

Agreed.
DC Sports = have to use if you live in CA
Megan Racing = use if you live anywhere else

Seal up the Megan Racing midway flange gasket by coating it in Copper RTV and torquing the bolts down good. Re-torque (midway flange and the head bolts) after using the car for a short drive and letting it cool down.
note: re-torquing should be done regardless of what brand the header is

For easiest installation, put the header together separate from the car, and then raise the whole header into the engine bay from underneath. Also, when removing the stock exhaust manifold, unplug the O2 sensor from its wiring harness, and remove the manifold with the O2 sensor still attached. With the exhaust manifold removed, it is much easier to use a big crescent wrench to remove the O2 sensor, as you have more room. Install the O2 sensor onto the new header before installing into the car. Once the new header is in place, plug in your O2 sensor wiring harness.
