Default My Greddy EVO 2 Sounds like ****

Alrite, so I've had the Evo2 for a while now and I'm not sure if its always been like this or not but when I rev and then lift, as the rpms drop from around 3600-3000 it makes the ugliest, fartiest, riciest (if those are words) noise ever. Its like a weird vibration. Happens when in gear and in neutral and it not subtle its really loud and annoying. It almost makes me never want to rev because it sounds amazing without that. Anyone know why this happens or if maybe something is broken inside the canister?

Heres a video of an 06 si with the evo2. Notice the subtle vibration noise as the rpms drop. Mines like that yet much more pronounced. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K3CEzWOnLs

Thankss,
Shane

haha i know how you feel, i never want to rev my car high and get the ricey sound outta my fart can, i shift by like 4000 at the most....

but maybe since you've had it for a while you have a small hole in it. Get it up on a lift and (once its cold) run your hands over the whole thing to make sure you dont have any holes in it. Maybe its gotten rusted over time and a small rock shot up and hit it. That happens sometimes and it'll be a very quick fix for a shop.

To be honest I don't think it really sounds that bad. It sounds much better at the higher rpms, but like you said about the drop off at the lower ones. I'd check to make sure all the connections are secure and there are no holes in the exhaust.

Yeah I'm going to look at it this weekend. I think it got more noticeble when I put on the race header. More Airflow = more noise

Maybe it's your muffler bearings!

I feel your pain. I have had my magnaflow on two different setups on my car. The turbo D16Z6 sounded awesome, but the GSR is too ricey. Im going to take it to a muffler shop this spring and get a monster resonator welded in, that should help out. To be honest, I dont want my exhaust to make ANY nose at all.
