my mom or sis dented my exhaust omg!
so i have a cat back exhaust on a 04 civic and it has a bad dent on the bottom. I knew one of them rode over a speed bump but they NEVER admit to it which pisses me off
i know because i can tell the exhaust sounds different. At first it sounded just like a leak because ive had a few before, women cant drive! (at least in this family)
so imagine a perfect resonater and then imagine someone hit it with a hammer
thats kind of what it looks like
about 3-4 inches in length and caves inward like ur thumb on ur palm
i read along time ago b4 i got my exhaust that a small dent will be bad but this is more than small, i may be exagerating but i am furious because it sounds like it has a leak but it doesnt..it just has a dent and this souind is permanent!
is it okay to leave it like this? i can live with it as long as i dont have to repair it or anything
the sound is a little worse but i dont want to dish out any more money cuz im broke
the whole thing cost me about 400 total

and they drive it because i got my license suspended
only 2 cars in the house between the 3 of us but usually its just mine till i got my license taken away, plus my sis and mom are both buying cars for themselves later

We need a picture of the actual damage to be able to assess it.
If no one will own up to messing it up then don't let either of them drive your car until someone confesses and gets it fixed for you. I wouldn't lend my car to anyone anyway though. I let my dad drive it once about 50 miles, and when I first got it I let my friend take it down the street (with me in the car) because he wanted to and since he knows how to drive a stick well, I didn't have a problem with a quick test drive.

No, it should not hinder you driving. Once theres a hole you might start leaking exhaust into the cabin, which COULD get dangerous if it was bad enough, and it will be loud and annoying with the leak, but for the time being you should be fine.
And i just had to.....
