new exhaust
alright, well i just discovered my muffler has a hole in it close to where the tip of the exhasut exits the muffler, now i dont know if its hurting anything, but i look at this as a good excuse to purchase a catback exhaust system. I was just wondering how easy is it to install a full exhasut system, i dont have a car lift or anything, lol, but i do have jackstands and a jack, i just want to know how easy a direct fit system would bolt up if i do it? And how about headers, are they fairly easy as well, i want to do the full i/h/e setup so..........
the bolts might be rusted on your cat so you might have to take the grinder out to cut through them but thats the only troubles you should have at putting a new cat back on. just dont go for a ebay special exhaust, make sure you do your research and buy a good quality product.
o yes, im definitely staying away from ebay, theres a nice little tuning shop close to where i livehttp://www.speedtechracing.com/home.php, and they sell all the good stuff, they also get new and used jdm stuff, as well as engine swaps, turbos, thats the shop that hopefully this summer will do a b16a 2nd gen swap for me!! im not planning on turbo so i think ill get 2.25" piping, I have been looking at greddy, hks, mugen, i really like the spoon sports stuff, DC, lots of choices at this shop. thanks for all the help, and r jackstands good enough??
i forgot to ask, what perfomance parts can my car be shared with, like can i use dx or lx parts off of a 1994 civic hatch, my 1994 hatch is a cx, but that stuff (cx/lx/dx) should all fit the same if its the same year? or am i wrong
hey man if you are going to do a turbo to your car then i would go at least 2.5" catback, 3" would be ideal. for perfomance parts you can look at any d series engine and it should fit your car, but i would save your money since you are upgrading the engine soon.
i would not put a 3" exhaust on a D unless it was boosted 20+psi. the D is just simply not that big of an engine. a 3" exhaust is pushing it on a b16 and may even be overkill for a b18 on stock boost.
do not stay away from ebay itself...just stay away from no-name 'ebay brand' exhausts.

cool, thanks for all the helpful info, ya ill check out ebay, thats kind of what i meant is just staying away from ebay brand stuff. I kind of want to stay na so im going to save up and get the best possible swap hp/torque wise, and then add some quality bolt ons like i/h/e and etc. i should have the budget for good parts by summer as im working on an apprenticeship right now, so i would like to do these things right from the start, over time of course so its easier on the wallet
