i got an 91 integra.. it had straight trough exhaust untill reciently when i put on a cat off a stock 91 integra. Now the car wont go over 40 miles per hour. Can anyone tell me if the cat is why the car is acting like that?

i believe the cat i installed was blocked therefore i didnt have enough exhaust flow. i removed the cat and the car went back to normal

it could be the case, is it clogged with dirt? and do you drive an automatic?

theoretically, if the cat was blocked up, the pressure that was building up should have cleared the clog. also, to start, a catalytic converter is not exactly hollow. it is filled with components that clean up the emissions, hence in itself, the cat is technically "blocked."

Acat will do that, when I had my Formula the cat clogged on it and it went from a normal driver to not being able to pull itself up a hill, over heating. I honestly thought a headgasket had blown or maybe both of them. This was a 300whp car that went mid 13's in the 1/4 mile so if anything were going to "blow through the obstruction" in the cat I think it would have. Your car is a 91(obd1) so just put a muffler and a resonator on it and it will sound great
