Default resonator?

Okay so I looked into them a little bit. But are they needed in an exhaust system? And does it sound better if you replace it with a straight piping? sugestions? help?

definitely sounds better with a resonator. Will sound raspy without it. Magnaflow resonators are awesome, i just got a 22" for my custom catback and it sounds really smooth. Look on ebay for them, and the longer the better.

resonators are the only way to stay sane.. the sound is not so good and will get old fast without one.

A resonator works with the muffler to reduce noise, by making sound waves "cancel each other out".. without one it makes the exhaust sound like crap.. and like Flip said, magnaflow makes a nice one. [sm=smiley20.gif]

^ true, but i dont think i need to relax? Twin loops give a really mellow smooth sound though. If you want a big exhaust tip and a louder, more aggressive sound, theyre not for you.
