Default Restricter Plates?

Is it true that if you remove some the restricter plates, in the compartment where the intake shaft hooks up to, it will add some HP? If so where are all the plates? I got one small plate out, a wire screen, and one of the valves off.

sounds like your running dpfi. supposidly removing the upper butterfly and the L bracket in the box, helps hi rpm power. ive tried this and only noticed a decrease in throttle response.
