Hey ive got an 89 Civic si and i have a short ram air intake. a chrome pipe and my intake tube and filter ends before the battery. my plugs are abit lean. though. would it be easier to get a Header 4 into 1 then a performance exhaust then get it tuned ?. cuz i have a really short intake tube. lol 5inches then its the 5 1/2 inch filter. a big Intimidator filter. only open on the sides no top mini filter. so i need feedback on the short intake and if i can compensate the leanness by adding a header and full exhaust and fuel pump.

 

You don't need to get it tuned. Your ECU will compensate for any (not there's any major ones) differences in the amount of air going into the engine. However, an aftermarket header and cat-back system are recommended, as they help to add to your car's power.

 

yes definitely let your car breath better and sound deeper... my current i/h/e is aem sri, 5zigen 4-1 header and apexi exhaust. sounds pretty good
