CEL = limp mode. The simulator is to trick your secondary o2 sensor into thinking the cat is working just fine, so since you dont have a cat your pulling a CEL. The o2 sensor is wired into the sensors signal and tells it everything is going perfectly, eliminating the CEL.

And addiction, getting the EX catback would allow you to bolt an EX cat between the header and midpipe, but it wouldnt take care of the secondary sensor, you'd have to extend the wires still.

Will my car tell me there is something wrong, check engine light or anything? The headers i have came with a "cat" or so thats what the box said which is acutallyjust another pipe that looks like a resonator that replaces the cat. But i think im just gonna buy another cat from procivic, and just have it welded.

for figuring out whats wrongvia the CEL^ it'll prolly be a code 16 or 17 or something, somethign to do with catalytic converter efficiency, atleast thast what mine was with my header/secondary sensor problem.

Did you get the header (just one) off ebay? If so, that "high flow cat" is actaully just a test pipe and does nothing for emissions, i've dealt with them before. Where do u live at? And is your car a 96-00 DX? I imagine it is...

hmm...didnt know the 7th gen EX's had the sh*tty cat/header combo. How much did you pay for hte header? And idk if youve actually answered yet, do you have a check engine light (CEL)?

I paid 300 for it, i used to have my light come on every now and then, but it doesn't anymore for some reason. I thought it was just because my o2 sensor wasn't used to the new pipe, or because i unplugged it or something.

so your setup is the new header, test pipe, then midpipe. Is the primary sensor plugged in properly? And is the secondary sensor plugged in properly as well? If you're not getting a CEL, i dont know what would be casuing your car to be sluggish, but with a test pipe even if the sensor is plugged in properly it's suprising you're not getting a CEL becasue of the test pipe doing nothing for emissisions.....so are both sensors plugged in properly? And by properly, not only do i mean screwed into the bungs, but did you have to extend the secondary sensor to make it fit? On the 6th gen DX's i know oyu had to extend wires sine the secondary sensor was plugged in just below the primary, in the cat right in the exhaust manifold.

save the cat because if you throw it away like the idiot i bought the car from then it will cost you a few to fix. when i took it to the repair shop after the news of a honda not passing. (i was shocked). the dude says wow he really messed this one up. no cat, no o2 sensors or intake manifold. basically he was saying700 dollars please! ******!!!!!

Yea thats my basic setup. i didn't have to extend my sensors or anything. The check engine light used to come one and stay on for a while, but it quit doing that, i dont know if the check engine light burned out or if it isactually is ok. As for the sluggishness, i thought the headers would help out a great deal, which they do, it just feels like i lost power in take off. I have a friend who has a stock hyundai elantra and i could beat him easy without the headers, but now that i put them out he pulls on me in the take off so i dont know what the deal is.

ya dont throw away the cat or even leave it outside!!!!!!

around here they are buying the cat converters for about 150bucks....... they said now people have problems with trucks, people just climbing under the car in a parking lot with a cordless sawzaw cutting them off and selling them...

just another reason lowering my car was a good idea... hahhahaa
