i have an AEM SRI and Megan Racing headers...i am told many different things from different people, but i trust you guys here because you guys seem so knowlegable. will i pass? if not...what do i need to do to pass?

 

You need to not listen to people who live in different states. Only CALIFORNIA laws apply to you, and yes they sre strict. AFAIK any engine mods have to have a CARB exempt sticker.

 

i don't think my megan headers have CARB stickers...what headers are legal/would pass and fit a 97 DX (auto)?

 

Well, I know Pacesetter makes some for the DX that are CARB legal or whatever, but I can't attest as to their quality. I dunno if any other companies do.

As are DC Sports...No carb/EO plate...don't even bother going to the smog. Same on the Air intake. AEM always has a CARB sticker.

If you don't see this plate (or something similar) yes you will have a hard time passing. It's required, so if it is legal it must be permanently attached on the header someplace. Mine is right on top.
