Can u take the heat shield off the header of a B16A? Or if you did would you have to rap it in heat tape for headers?

you could take it off and not wrap it. Either way wont cause any probs.

The heat from your motor wont be so extreme that you need to worry about it. Plus, I think the engine bay looks better withou the heat shield.

dont rap it. cause in the long run it will help erode your header. but you can take the shield off and it will look uglyer if you want.

also you can make your own heat shield, andd it will look great. just get a thick sheat of aluminum, and drill your holes and bend it to fit the headers. you should also take a wire brush to it and give it that brushed metal look.
