Default Throttle Body Spacer

Hey I was thinking about getting a throttle body spacer, but I have a friend who can make one for me out of t6 aluminum (dad owns a machine shop) for like 30 bucks. So I'd rather do that. Anybody here have one or think it's a decent investment. Also if anyone can find it< I need specs for a throttle body spacer so that I can have on made. Any body think it wise to get one? I've got plenty of buddies with trucks and v-6 and v-8 that say the tbs made a noticable difference for the price. and they only range to about 100 buck so it's not too bad. any ideas?

My friend has one on his 97 accord and it didn't do jack except make a funky little high pitched almost BOV sounding noise when he let off the throttle... I doubt it would do anything for you but if you're going to try it let us know... Your engine doesn't flow enough air for it to matter... That's just my opinion though

throttle spacers only work on certain cars. on a 4L 6cyl jeep they work great, but on a civic your wasting your money

alls what you are gonna do is lengthen the air time traveling through the runners, basicly it will give you more low end power (if it works) and take away some top end

It effectively makes you intake plenum bigger, which is good, and it cools the intake cahrge somewhat, which is also good. Is it worth 30 bucks? Yes, make me one too please.

Well I have a GSR throttle body so mine would need to be 60mm, but all you need to do is get a spare TB gasket for like $1.99 and use it as a template. As far as thickness, I would think 45-50mm would be good, but the thicker the better (to a certain extent).

I agree on that. Just save your money and spend it on something else.

how are you conna bolt the throttle body up to the intake manifold when the bolts are only so long?
you gonna get some bolt extenders?
