Used magnaflow
I saw an ad in some local classifieds for a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust for an 01-05 civic.. which I have been wanted to get for a while.. and I don't think you can beat the price.. It was only on his wifes car for less than a year, and he wants $250. Is that a good deal, or should I try to talk him down? He says that there is no rust on any of the pipes, and it is in great shape (no dents, etc) but there is small amounts of rust on the hangers.. My other concern is he said that it was this model which says it will fit a DX coupe and sedan.. and he said that it was on his wifes DX sedan, but I have a DX coupe... should I be fine and not have to modify it at all to put it on? Thanks for any help..
Yeah, I don't know what you are saying.. the cheapest I have seen them (even on ebay - just looked) is $410 with free shipping.. even at ptuning.com... apparently his digital cam is dead so he sent me a video and it doesn't look in too bad of condition, a little surface rust on some of the seams but as he said in his commentary on the video, I can clean and polish it right up and it should be fine. I am not building my car for show, I just wanted to add a little performance to my daily driver while helping my gas mileage (I drive 100miles/day)
I guess the one thing that I was worried about (it fitting on a coupe) should be fine, because everywhere I look to purchase it, it all says for a coupe and sedan and there is no option to choose which one... so I am guessing it is one size fits all?

Well I got an email from the guy over the weekend, and because i will have to drive a little ways to pick this up, they are dropping the price $25 for me.. So, this weekend I should have it.
Now, a little bit different question.. Because my cat is part of my header, if I want to switch my header out and put in a DC 4-2-1, I would have to get a cat as well, correct? If so, where does that need to go - do I need to have it welded onto the pipe?
Also, what kind of performance will I see with replacing the stock catback with the magnaflow? Their dyno results on the webpage show a 5hp and 4ft-lb..

So, a couple of small problems.. I went and picked up the exhaust - come to find out that when the guy who had it put the pipe together, instead of using the clamps to tighten the pipe pieces together, he (or someone) welded the pipes together all except for the muffler assembly... so I had to try and fit a 10' exhaust in my 02 coupe.. lets just say it was a fun ride home for my fiance... So, now if I want to get a high-flo cat, there will be some welding.. [:@]
Now, I put my car up on ramps and looked under my headers/cat at the bolts, and they are rusted tight.. no way of getting them out. [:@] I tired and started bending the bolt, so I stopped. My car is an 02, and I bought it honda certified... have had it less than 1 year - so only one winter, and a mild one around here at that... and they are rusted tight... which seems to me that's something they didn't look at when the certified the car.. Is something like that (mounting hardware) covered in a certification? Can I have them replace the bolts? If it isn't covered, how much would it cost to have them (or someone in the area) do it?
