As many of you know my car used to be a turbo d series. I had stock exhaust for awhile, then got a magnaflow. It sounded good. Then my catalic converter got clogged and I hollowed it out. Still sounded fine. I blew up the D series engine and swapped in the gsr. This exhaust is too loud. Its annoying. I ordered a magnaflow cat but it didnt bolt up, so its sitting in my trunk. I was thinkin about getting a bigger resonator welded in and maybe a new muffler? Idealy I want it quiet. Hell, if I could make it completly quiet like stock id be happy. What do you guys think? Im thinkin about going to a muffler shop tomorrow.

 

even with a large resonator, it'll prolly still be loud with the magnaflow muffler. sell the magnaflow and get an RS*R? those are literally as quite as stock...

 

Well the RSR is the same thing as a twin loop muffler, it just hides the design. I think the fact that its catless makes a big difference. I dont care if I lose some power.......I just want it quiet.

 

I'd pick up a stock cat and a better muffler, and call it a day.

Pete i say eitehr an extra resonator or replace the one you have now with a larger one. Then go twin loop for the muffler (and sell me the Magnaflow when you do )

i dont think you should go with a stock muffler, Twin Loop at the very least is what i'd do. A Magnaflow cat would do just fine too.

 

The Apexi WS2 is nice and quiet. i don't know how it would fair with the GSR though, as it is only 2 1/4"

 

I dont care if I lose some power. Its too loud for me.

 

Pete. The magnflow cat doesnt just 'bolt up'. Have it welded into the a pipe of the exhaust.

 

Ever thought of using an OE rsx muffler? Junkyards have plenty of those.
