what do you think about this set up?
Ok I think Im going to get a throttle body spacer...that 1 or 2hp would help me out some lol...especially with a few other things and since I have an intake, header and exhaust. Would a intake manifold actually help me any without any kind of forced induction...? And what do you think about the AEM pulley kit, Sniper? Thanks for all of your help.
Intake maifolds are the way to go with N/A motors. Now that I think about it... I don't even know what happens to the IM when you turbo because the turbo has it's own manifold. Anyway, unless you want to get a cam, get an IM and bigger throttle body. A bigger throttle body will help more than a spacer will, but TB's can be big money for the Holley or Skunk or whatever. I got an Integra one from e-bay for 10 bucks and it's a 60mm instead of the 56 for stock.
Oh yeah, the pulleys... I have read too many bad things about pulleys to pull the trigger on buying any. I have a lot of stereo so a bigger, slower turning alternator pulley would kill me. Something about the weight and balance of the stock one keeps the motor in line. I suppose if you get AEM you would be Ok. Stay away from the cheap one though.

hmm that's pretty good. What are some other small things I could do to maybe get me up to like 185 maybe? With the intake, header, exhaust I already have plus the intake manifold, bigger throttle body, and throttle body spacer Im guessing Im getting some where around 165...
oh yea, is a taper bore still good on a TB? Where it's bigger on the end and goes back smaller?

Taper bore will help but bigger is the way to go. Taper= 1-2Hp, bigger= 5Hp.
Geez, with all of that, now you are looking at a cam and maybe some head work. A cam will get you another 10-15 but now we are talking $$. Of course you could just boost, because by now with all of these parts, you could probably get a turbo kit and jump right to 185Hp with a modest boost of 6-7 psi.

Nah I don't want to go with forced induction. I know me and I'd blow my engine to peices if I got one. I like naturally aspired engines. I wanna push as much as I can to my little d16y8 with out a super/turbo charger. I can't do everything I want right now but later on I will. Could I take a throttle body off of an Integra and it fit my stock intake manifold? Finding a used throttle body that's bigger and that will fit my car would be muchhh cheaper. Also...are the ebay throttle body spacers just as good as all the other ones? thanks for keeping on talking man...if you want then IM me on AIM if you have it. It would be much easier lol. My aim name is DyingXcore
Yeah, like I said I got an Integra Ls one for 10 bucks, but I wouldn't expect to find one that cheap. I haven't put it on yet but the guy said it bolted right on to his D series. It's quite a bit bigger at 60mm than stock at 56. I got your manifold too that I am gonna port match to the TB. Used stuff is definitely the way to go to stretch that budget.
From what I know of TB spacers, the e-bay ones will be fine because the most benefit is from the added volume and cooling, and you could get that from a regular thick *** piece of aluminum with a hole to match your TB and IM. If you had a machinist buddy you could try that. I think most spacers have those threads on them that are supposed to spiral the air, but I would grind those down if I got one, or at least make them smooth with no sharp edges. When people talk about "porting and polishing" the polishing part is just smoothing out any sharp edges that are left from mass production machining. So buying something with sharp edges on purpose is probably not a good idea. Turbulance is only good in the combustion chamber, you don't want any going in or out of it.
