What Exhaust System Do I Want?

2003 Civic 1.7L What Exhaust Should I Get?
Hello,
I have a 2003 Honda Civic LX Sedan, and its stock right now. It is the 1.7L with a manual transmission. I would like to put an exhaust system and a cold air intake.
-My Problem-
I don't like the rice rocket, or fart box sound. I would like more of a steady rumble, that doesn't sound like something is choking or backfiring.
Is there a way I can achieve that sound, and if so, what do I need to do it? I would spend up to 250 on the exhaust system. I also live in CA so my cold air intakes are limited. (Because I don't want to take it off to smog).
