What makes an exhaust good or bad.

What I mean is why does the evo 2 have a deep throaty sound and a staight pipe(ask a muffler shop to do) has such a ricey sound. I mean the both are staight and hollow pipes, so what makes the evo 2 so technelogicly advanced.

its not all sound. if it sounds good on the side...hell thats just one more bonus. but you want light, effective, and the best power gains you can get.

weight, and material is what makes a good exhaust system. and depending on your likeness to loudness, the straightness and muffler too.

Light is good, but I think mandrel bends and size are more inportant.

i have heard that catbacks cause a missup in the cars timming, is this true

i walked into midas and asked for a quote on a catback, and they said they cant do it. and the guy told me that it will mess up the engine on todays cars. and of course i told him off and explained that hes just an old guy who doesnt know anything about "todays cars". i guess i should have worn my ASE patch...
