What's the lowdown on modding my Si?
I just came from Mazda land to having an 07 Si. In mazda world, if you want to get a cold air intake you have to purchase an A/F controller to go with it cause the mixture gets excessively lean throughout the powerband because of the CAN Protocol. So, basically, what I am getting at is do we need this stuff for our hondas? If I want to install a CAI on my Si will it just consist ofa pipe, filter, and sylicone hoses/clamps or would it have to have all theA/F controllerthat my Mazda6 had to have just to run?
In essence, are all the bolt-ons for our cars just that, bolt-ons?

Bolt on modifications dont add enough power to need an air fuel changing device, the cars ECU will adjust properly to the new conditions. When you start adding cams, nitrous, or boost THEN you need a tune.

Hey thanks for the info guys. I just wanted to be sure cause when i had my mazda6, life was hell. You literally had to have that A/F controller to have your engine run right or wait for the CEL to come on. Mazda's ECU, is just a flat out PITA. A CAI for a Mazda6 is $540.00 because of the A/F controller and ultimately no market for it. It would have only added 7whp. Thats $77/hp. Rediculous. I'm glad to finally have something that doesnt make me wanna beat my head off of a nail!
