Default Will it fit? SRI

Hey guys, I have a 98 civic ex manual, and i just bought an AEM SRI from advancedautoparts and it says will fit most hondas from 96-00, so I was wondering if there is any diffrence between a dx,lx, ex with regards to installing an intake. Therefore I was wondering if the intake will fit, or do they make special ones for the EX model? And if anyone wants to share pics of it installed it would be great so i have some basis because i am a NOOB.

Most Honda intakes are about the same, however there are two different styles of intakes for single cam civics like yours. The EX model civic has a different intake manifold set up then the DX, and LX models do. Here are some pics:
EX (single cam vtec) intake: http://www.injen.com/webpages/intake.../rd/rd1520.jpg
DX, LX, (single cam non-vtec) intake: http://www.injen.com/webpages/intake...da/is1545p.JPG

Yours should have a straight inlet like the first picture, not a 90 angle bend like the DX, intakes.

Yes it does, now I have 3 holes in the AEM SRI, but i only have 2 things to "plug" into it, do i just cover the extra hole with something, or is there supposed to be something else to "plug" into that hole, keeping in mind i have a 98 civic ex.

Yes that 3rd hole is for 99-00 civics like mine that need it for an additional sensor or something. If you have a 96-98 (and you do) then just plug it up. My friend bought an injen intake for his 97 civic and the kit came with a plug to block the 3rd hole. Other than that just take out all the old stuff, and attach your new intake. There should be a DIY guide to intakes somewhere on this site, good luck.

Yo i have two more questions, I got the air temperature sensor to fit in nicely, but the other thing to plug in to the SRI seems like it should be in a little more than it is, is it supposed to be just kind of in there, like it seems it should be in a little farther or im just being to ****?

And also, after i install it all the way, do I than, reconnect my battery wire, than start my car and let it run for 10 minutes, than turn my car off, than turn it on again to reset the air temperature sensor, does that seem right?

This other thing is just a vacuum line that runs to your cylinder head, and yes it just kind of sits in the intake and draws air from it. Also, I never disconnected my battery when I installed my intake, but if it sets off your check engine light (for some odd reason) then disconnect your battery wait for like 30 sec. then connect it back up and everything should be good. Oh and also I got the perfect picture for you, it is an AEM SRI on a 97 EX civic. This is how it should look, plus look at the other pics on this page for help, hope you are good to go now.

Sweet, I am glad it finally works, I don't know tons about cars, but intake/exhaust and suspension are my specialties because I have done them already to my car. Plus I had nothing else to do today, lol.
