Hey guys, sorry if this is a stoopid question. I don't know much about performance. My question is, I just had the resonator (i think that's what it's called) replace. I am talking about the long piece of piping in between the muffler and the cat? All I know is that my mechanic replaced the long pipe that connect directly to the muffler. My question is, since I have replaced that pipe, can I just get a performance muffler to get a little more hp? Or should I just wait and have the whole exhaust changed? I feel that if I change the whole exhaust, I would have just lost a little over $100 for the resonator (however you spell it). I am also planning on installing a short ram intake and headers too.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

with an aftermarket exhaust you get not just a muffer....you get larger diameter piping and smooth bends....adding just a muffler will make your car loud...that's all...no performance. You want a good catback and a really good 4-2-1 header....

I was reading that GReddy makes an exhaust that isn't loud, I am looking for the performance gains and a stock sound if possible.
