Default 17" alloys - fitment and tyres?

i have already read somewhere that you should keep ur tyres to 205/40/17. i dunno much about the alloys though.

what are the fittings for my civic? its 96 1.5 lsi? is there somewhere to find useful information about your car? would the car manual have this information inside it? what stud alloys would i need? im looking to spend around £300 ish on some good used 17 inch alloys. any place u guys recommend to go? ebay mostly does new ones but im still keeping an eye out for em.

but i first need my sizes and fitting so that my tyres dont hit the arches when i make a turn. thanks for ur advice
