Default 1990 Civic Odometer question..

Hey guys-

I am planning on picking up a 90's model Civic and have been looking at one on the net which lists it is indicating 99,999 miles..

What I am wondering is.. do the odomoeters in these cars register over 100K or do they stop at 99,999 and roll over?

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is, if the car is legit, is it sitting at 100K or 200K or even maybe 300K..

Thanks guys..

Jeff

They register well over 100k miles. If there's nothing else indicating that it's a shady seller, then it's probably OK. They might have ran it up to that number to sell it and say it hasn't even rolled over 100K miles.

Yeh, the only shady thing is the seller keeps talking about "selling it as exempt" due to the miles..

I guess I need to go look at it and find out..

I appreciate your help...

Yeh, the car appears to be in decent shape in the pictures.. I am going to try and go look at it on Monday.. It's a 5 hour drive from here, but only an hour flight..

Ah, it's not too bad..

I can fly myself over there and look at it.. It'd be just like driving an hour or so..

I am still looking and would rather find something closer... I saw a silver hatch in a lot the other day, but it was gone when I got back.. Gonna go look around tonight..

Everything is rare when you want one..

that last statement is so true

but i still think there is no way that deal is good enough to pay for a plane ticket to get there and back.
