Default 1995 CIVIC DX PROJECT CAR?

My name is Scott, i'm 15 andI have a 1995 Honda Civic DX coupe. It has rust on the bottom inside of the door pannels, about 2 square inches of rust on each rear fender andthe car has about 150,000 miles on it. I was wondering if the car would make a good project car, i was first mods i was going to do were going to be;a widebody kit, carbonfiber lip kit, rims, suspension, and paint. And the car already has a K&N cold air intake. IS IT A LOST CAUSE, or should i keep going with my plans? please tell me if you know of any nice widebody kits, or htings you would change.

Thanks,
Scott

I'd say go for it dude! 1st, not many 15 year olds have their own car, and 2nd those said 15 year olds probably don't have a gear head ambition like you!

The with those mods you mentioned you're gonna have quite a looker, but will you not mod the engine? You have many options, Engine Swaps, Turbos, Superchargers, Nitrous, full on Naturally Aspirated build...

Check this site out for a Widebody Kit:

I say go for it! I got my civic and started working on it when I was 15, too... but I have one thing to point out regarding your mod plans... if you have a body kit/widebody kit, you won't be able to get a lip kit. Trust me, I've had a body kit, and I've had a lip kit. You won't be able to have them both at once. Other than that, I'd say your list sounds pretty good.

I think you should have the rust checked out by a collision center/body shop before you do anything... trust me, rust is a big problem with 5th gens, so I'd recommend getting that taken care of before the cancer spreads.

Also, look into engine swaps. They'll get you a lot more power (or potential in some cases *cough* b16 *cough*), and most jdm engines have anywhere from 30k to 50k miles, which is definitely preferable to 150k. Another thing I'd recommend is maybe a front end swap (like an s14 swap)... those look amazing if done right.

good luck with the widebody. I hope you know that you are going to spend alot of money in prep work. because fiberglass needs alot of work to get the wave out of it unless you don't care about that. i haven't looked for widebody's in forever but if anyone makes a metal one get that. def. get the rust straight before you do anything with it. why wouldn't it be worth it but just make sure u know u will never get that money back when u go to sell it so make sure your doing it for the love of customizing..

amen to that. im trying to keep my mods so that if i do sell it, i can put it back to stock. aka rims, lip kit, not body kit, and stereo. i am doing everything for the love of customizing like absolute said but i also am trying to keep a more clean, stock look. personally, go for a lip kit not a wide body kit man. just my opinion though

definitely solve the rust problem 1st! --- I've used a power drill with a wire brush (protect your eyes and lungs)and there is a product you can paint on the metal to stop further damage or you may need to replace doors and fenders

Tanks for the help so far, a friends faimly ownes a local chevey dealership, and a machnic there said he would take care of the rust for me. I definitly plan on going into the engine, but for that i'll probaly wait till i'm out of school to get into that. But that dosnt mean i havent started planning, i'm thinking of a B18C SiR-G/GSR OBD1 Complete Motor Swap (LSD),then i was thinking i'd geta new ECU, ignition control and so on. Thenafter that I was planing on forged pistons, new valves and valve springs, pretty much every thing I can do to make the car run better and handel bost, because i was thing a GREEDY tubocharger (i was thinking some where around 20-24 PSI)and a front mount intercooler. Lately i've been loking intonew headers and a full catback exaust. If anybody has any advice, please tell me, because like i said i'm 15, so i dont really have the experience i would like to have.
Thanks

awesome..
I say, go for it!
but as far as performance mods, it'd probably be best to engine swap, like you already said...I've got a 95 dx, like you, and the engines aren't much..
