(96-00) EK seats fit in an EG?
My driver seat is crap, and I can get a pair of '97, 75K seats, same color for a song, but don't know if they fit - can anyone tell me (includes rails/brackets)? The rear definitely *won't* fit, is that correct?
Anyone know of a good steering wheel for it? Mine looks like crap, and I doubt the airbag works anyway...
thanx..

Dunno about the seats, I'm sure if you put the stock bracket and the rails that go with the seats theres a chance it'll fit. As for steering wheels I put an aftermarket on in on mine, brand called X-force, nice steering wheels, average price around 130ish. Go with a sparco hub adapter.
The front two holes are perfect, door side rear hole perfect. Center hole is in by about two inches. Seat feels solid with three, but have doubts about crash safety. My original seats sat too low toward the middle also, apparently Honda wanted it this way. Jammed the handle of the socket wrench under the loose point, and seat sets level like my EF.
Need a 2" tall cast block to lift the seat, bolt to the original hole, and accept the bolt thru the EK seat rails to fit. Don't know where to locate such a part.

Off to try replacing the EK bracket/rails with the original EG rails - return with results.

ok, EK seats in an EG.
Only the inside rail needs to be swapped (thank gawd).
Slide washer from wire joining the two tracks, and remove wire from outside (back adjust lever side) rail. Remove inside (seat-belt connector side) plastic. Remove seat belt connector. Three bolts, two on frame, one on seat back, diff size bolt heads. When removing bolts from frame, be careful as they have (most likely) been sealed - mine pinged like a heavy nut onto an aluminum head when they broke free, and I ripped the skin from a knuckle. word for wise, use larger than a 10" ratchet [&o]
The EG rail doesn't look like it will fit, but it does. Keep track of the washer between the seat back and the rail when removing the rail (two washers there, total) Remember to check for seat position balance on the two rails before re-attaching the connecting wire.
seat just drops/bolts in after rail swap, feels better than original, so must have been seat cushion on original EG seat that made me feel like I was leaning into the center.
Two '97 EK seats with *57K* (my dyslexia set in again) for $40, sort of delivered (it was on his way) + labor. Damn, this is almost as good as the good ol' GM days (when everything was interchangable), heheh.
