It isn't very hard. Really the hardest part is getting them apart for the first time. The glue/ tarish stuff on the headlights is hard to get apart and it's pretty messy. As long as you take your time and seal them up very well, they should look fine. I know there's a DIY somewhere for it, I'll try to find it.
