Default adding a sunroof

im thinking of adding a sunroof to my 95 civic cx, the only power option it has is a/c, and iv always wanted a sunroof . i dont know how much this would cost me...i think i could get the sunroof from an autowrecker in my area for relativemy cheap... but how much shouldi expect from a shop to charge to install it? and would it be worth the hassle?

Not worth the hassle. Costly and then you'll worry about leaks.

Aftermarket sunroofs are not as good quality as oem. Next time if you really want a sunroof look for a car with one.

The only way I'd ever do a sunroof on a non sunroof'd car would be to swap the roof skin, basicly drilling out the welds on the entire center section of the roof pannel and replacing the pannel with a roof skin that has the OE sunroof set up........ only way to get the roof skin is to get the top of a car with a sun roof in a junk yard and have the roof cut off at the pillars........and you'd also have to pretty much gut the car........

but like above, the aftermarket units are notorious for leaking......

I've got an aftermarket sunroof in my current car, a 98 Toyota Celica Gt...previous owner installed it. Although it doesn't leak...it does creak a lot. The car is lowered with coilovers and has front and rear sway bars so the suspension is really stiff and you can really hear the roof creaking during sharper turns and bumps.

different cars different results... but that creaking would scare the crap out of me!
