well i must say. i am very pleased with the responses ive gotten from this post. no one here is narrow minded. i just wish that everyone could just throw the word "rice" out the effing window! because ALL of us are itnerested in cars here! whether it be a huge wing, or a turbo. we should all get along and stop the bickering about why the guy with a big wing in a flashy paint job is retarded. LIKE I SAID, im NOT including anyone on this post in that category. everyone here is beyond cool in their views, and i appreciate the feedback. but we all know who the haters are in the import scene. screw them. keep it open, and keep it fun, that's what it's all about, right?

thanks for the feedback guys.

i used to go to the WRX forums and they ALL hated ricers. and they defined ricers as (cars with blatant and untasteful paintjobs, bolt-ons, airplane wings, hoover front air dams, and anything else that just makes people wanna point at and laugh).

strange thing is, is that WRX owners seem to hate neon SRT-4s even more now, because they have BIG motors but downright cheezy quality. lol.

Plus, theres a slight difference between the 30 dollars worth of car care products I used in the last year, and a body kit/wing combo thats going to cost thousands of dollars to have mounted, painted, etc..
I disagree, why put a price on it?

Bunch of crap to look fast = couple grand

Some stuff to go fast = couple grand

The latter whipping up on the former = priceless.

The chicks in the bikinis lean on your car at the shows and go home in my car afterward.

I always knew it as "form follows function"

Body kits are great, but only a few offer better aerodynamics therefor actually working like they were initially inteded to. Youll have to spring for something like Mugen, C-West, or Kaminari though.

Ok as for the original topic, yeah I have no problem with people who build show cars, I DO have a problem with people that build show cars and then think they own the fastest car on the road.

And thanks for bringing up the topic, now you've got me thinking about adding some show this summer to what lil go I have. My next engine mods planned are the Y8 intake manny conversion; and I'd like to hold out on that for a bit till I can find a write up on it, AEM EMS, and camshaft/valvetrain.

i dont no about you guys but iv been two about 5 or 6 big car shows now, and i think theres like %70 show and %30 go..the ones with go have alot of exteriour styling too, but i dont think iv never heard the word rice at a car show and i notice the onces with big stearos and air ride get the most attention...i wish my car could be fast but i cant affoard to do a k20 swap right now (what i want in the future) so im just all focosed in making my car look really nice in the spring time, even tho its slow at least it will look really nice..the other day i was leaving school and i saw this hot girl i talk to sometimes, shes was like oh i really like your car and the blue inside that i did and some other stuff i have (even tho it looks soo stock right now and crappy cuz its winter) and im like sweet...but i dunno where im going but what i was trying to say is im with you guys, its up to you want you want to do with your car, some people want to turn heads but haveing a really nice looking car, and some people want to have a fast car to have fun in, but eather or..no matter what you do someone will always say "thats rice" and there will always be haters but hey, what can you do...everyone has there own style and what they like
