Beware! 2006 bodywork manufacturer defects
I recently bought a brand new Honda Civic sedan 2006 and after a few days realized that both the passenger and specially the driver side door panels are warped. This car had only 14 miles on the clock when I recieved it and was not involved in an accident. When I returned the car to the dealership and looked at other Civics specially the sedans, I noticed that most of them have this manufacturing defect to some degrees but not as bad as mine. The dealership and Honda company have both admitted to this short coming and have accepted to fix it by cosmetically that is repainting the side panels. But I am not excited about having my new card repainted. Does anybody come across this too? What are your ideas or solutions to this problems please? [:@]
Well, my MINI was an autoshow car (San Diego Autoshow only) and someone put a small scratch on the hood so they completely sanded, primed and painted it, put a new decal and badging on it, then put the BMW sealer whatever on it. When they told me about it I told them it was a problem and they took off $500... really, it was fixed so good that you'd never be able to tell. So, I'd see if they'd compensate you a little.
My front Bumper had been repainted on my new Si! I picked it up at night and it was snowing...I noticed it right away the next day when I washed it. Honda said the would "fix" it for me. By fix they mean having a new "repainted" bumper put on my car....I'm like how is that fixing it? I would have gave the car back if I din't have to wait 4 months to get another one. The dealer agreed to give me the front piece to the Aero kit which will cover up the noticeable areas of the bumper that showed repainting.
