Body Work Sucks
I just got my z3 fenders yesterday to replace the ones that the shop broke when they where trying to repair my lambo kit. Took it out of the box and saw that none of the holes are drilled and its missing some places that are sopost to be there to have a bolt connect it to the front bumper. So next few days I get to drill, cut, and make some brakets to get the fender to fit correctly. Damn one more obstical in my way before I can finaly paint. [:'(]
EDIT: Ok I'm installing it now and I need to drill the holes, is it ok to use a normal drill and bit or do I need something else so it doesnt crack or something?

whenever we used to do it we would always use a normal drill, started will the little drill bit first to start the hole then worked the way up to the right size

I had to stop early today cas it got too damn cold to drill but I got the driver side fitted and tommorow if its not so cold I will mark the spots that need drilled and then do it. There is a gap inbetween the fender and the headlight that could probably be bondo-ed but I realy don't feel like messing with that stuff so I'm just going to put up with it.
well like mill$ said, go smaller to bigger on the bits and remember to take your time. one little screw up with that kinda thing can lead to hours of extra work. as far as your gap. your fender (depending on the type) you might be able to flex it down a little. youll have to spend more time lining up the hole closest to the light to get the gap to settle down. you also might be able to mess with your headlights too to get rid of some of it. if you go the bond/fiberglass road then just see how much gap you want to eliminate, put some bondo/fiberglass around that edge and sand a little off then recheck it. basically u kinda want to apply just a tad more than u think then sand down but recheckin often to see how/where u need to sand more off at. anways hope i can help and good luck with the project.
Alright guys thanks for all the help but I think the gap is small enough to just leave alone, it's not worth all the extra work. I made some progress on the driver side fender today, its on but not all the holes are drilled for the screws yet. I have 5 out of the 7 holes drilled with the screws in so I should be done with it sunday [going to races tommorow so I can't work on it saturday] Well heres the pict.
