Default Can you paint the stock side skirts ?

Looking around for some side skirts when i had the bright idea of painting my stock skirt. (don't know if that is what the hell they are called) I would just like them to be the same color as the rest of the car. Any thoughts.... also should I just try to rattle can it or would it be better to take it to a body shop ???

thanks in advance

Yes you can, I painted mine. You can go to a paint shop and get some of your car paint mixed in a can that can work, I have looked at some DIY on the net and it comes out pretty good. Or just take them off and bring them to a body shop, shouldnt be to much money. There have been a ton of threads on this if you search around.

well you can do it yourself BUT i recommend that you take the skirts off and sand them smooth!
cause they do have a texture on them that is almost impossible to clean all the dirt out of the texture and tho it will look good after painting it... BUT after a few weeks/months the paint will bubble and separate. which wont look good!

just a suggestion..... i would also primer them AFTER sanding the plastic smooth and then smooth the skirts if ya missed any spots and if the primer doesnt lay down smooth. and then rattle can them.... just let dry and slapem back on...

if you put any bondo on it then make sure you scuff the area up and clean it really well! otherwise the bondo will have nothing to grab hold off and will eventualy fall off....

use a polyester bondo, "icing", it will flex with the plastic
