Default Can't See the Hood!

Last week I bought a 2009 Honda Civic LX. I am a tall person, and have pushed my seat high as it can go, but the dashboard is so deep that I can't see the hood of the car. I rely on seeing the hood to make sure I don't hit things. I thought maybe it was the wide windshield wipers, but I moved those out of the way and still couldn't see a bit of the hood.

Questions for the Honda enthusiasts:

--Does anyone else have this problem, and how did they get around it?

--Are there thinner windshield wipers available for 09 Hondas?

Even with this problem, I don't see myself buying anything other than a Honda Civic--so this is something I'm going to have to deal with. I'm just so VERY disappointed that Honda built the car this way.

Funny question, but... you didn't notice this when you test drove it?

Get a friend and a plastic lawn chair and experiment, or at least that's what I did.

It helped out a lot to have practiced with the lawn chair because I have had to parallel park a few times in the past few months.

I have had my 2008(pretty much same car) for almost 2 months and I have gotten. used to it

your hood is like 3 feet long and slants down a good bit. You didn't notice the shape of the car? Have you driven a newer car other than a civic lately? They're all like that, it's just the way companies are designing them.

+1 on the test drive.

he means learn your car, once you know how big your car is you dont really need to be able to see the bumper even though you cant on any car. you just know that you have say three feet until you plow into that person infront of you. once you know how big your car is then you can have fun =] get as close to possible to people and freak them the **** out =]
