well i dont think is will work as plug and play, you may have to make a connection with you engine to have the reading of you rev but still im not sure so search for it. i have a 95 ex and i had removed the cluster a lot of times to paint it forvtec ligth ,ect. is really easy to do, first remove the 2 screws from the blakc piece that is in front , this piece it the one that have the air conditioning vents. you will locate the screws pointing up . after that you neet a flat head screwdriverand get that face off frist remove the hazzards or strobe ligths button and the clockwith the screwdrive and take off the plug onboth elementsthen the face and be carefull here you can broke that stitches that hold it, the better place to apply the torquewith the screwdriverisin the center AC vents area.after removing the face you will seethe clutester with for move screw 2 in each side, remove them, tilt down you steering wheel an the cluster will come out, but easy you still need to remove all the plugs behind and dont worry you will not be confused here cause each plug has a color so you will know how to mount them back. i hope this was helpful and sorry for my bad english im not everyday english talker.

this hasbeen done a million times (i did it to my car) and it is always plug and play (unless you have cruise control, b/c some clusters don't include the plug installed in the back), but it will still plug in and work.

Another option is to install a pillar pod, even if you DO have a tach. I'm the type of person who likes guages and if you check out the link in my sig, you'll see the procedure I wrote on how to install a pillar pod.
